Some history of the VW Gacel in Argentina...

• 1982 VW arrived in Argentina
• 1983 VW ARGENTINA started the production of
• VW Gacel GL (Standard - 4 speed) 1.6L
• VW Gacel GS  (Full version - 5 speed) 1.6L
• 1988 VW Argentina started to produce and sell the new Gacel (3-types)
• VW Gacel GL  (Standard - 4 speed -1.6 litres - 75 hp - carburated)
• VW Gacel GS  (Full version - 5 speed -1.6 litres - 75 hp - carburated)
• VW Gacel 1.8  (Sport version/full - 5 speed -1.8 litres - 100 HP - carburated)
• This one became in one of the most populars spots cars of Argentina, speeds up realy fast and make every thing perfect
• Every VW Gacel in Argentina was equipped with the "VW-Audi 827" engine (an excellent engine)
• 1991 was the last year for the Gacel in Argentina, it was replaced by the Senda (looks exactly like our Fox II's (1991-1993), more economic but less HP than the Gacel)
• 1997 was the last year for Senda too

• The VW Gacel has run in every kind of race in Argentina TC-2000 (top tecnology category of Argentina)
• Rally
• TN (class 2)
• TN (class 3)
• Others
