A 1.0L 16v turbo!
are some quick specs on the engine:

& Intercooled! [1.4 kg/cm2 of boost]
(~112 HP) @ 5500 RPM
(~114 lb-ft) of torque @ 2000 RPM

has taller 4th and 5th gears, compared to those used with NA 1.0L 16v engines
is an "Allied Signal G12" [the official VW do Brasil site lists it as a
weighs only 996 kg!
that the exhaust is on the driver's side of the engine (not on the passenger's
side, like on North American Foxes)
A big thanks fro
Thyago Szöke from Brazil for telling me about this new engine.

And for copyright
purposes, I took the 2 pictures from a web site in Brazil, found here.
There's a lot more information there, but it's all in Portuguese.
You can translate it with a site like Babelfish
some of the specs with VW do Brasil's
official site too.
