MARCH 11 2008 - TRANSMISSION FROM PLANET VOODOO

"HELLO AGAIN!

Apologies to everyone (including the rest of the guys in the band) for taking so long to give you all an update, but the past several months have been an absolute blur for me...

First off, THANK YOU(!!!!!!!) to everyone involved, and who came out to see us play again last August. What an AMAZING night that was! Truth be told, it has to be in the top 5 shows that the band ever played. The energy, the atmosphere, the great friends in the room, everything just felt right. Thank you all so much for a being a part of that. It was also a great thing for me personally to have my son see a VOODOO show that he will actually remember (now that he's old enough).

I have to say though, that the best part of it all really was the band chemistry at the rehearsals leading up to the show, and then again on stage that night. It was such an incredible feeling to have been a part of that after all of these years. I think we all realize now that there is a special chemistry between us as players / musicians, and the night really felt more like a celebration of our ability to work together as a unit. For the 6 of us onstage, it was everything that we could have ever hoped for. I really can't even begin to tell you how good it felt to play with Darren, Jason, Terry, Dean and Victor.

And if we never perform as MVM again, I would have no regrets about it. The show was that good.

Thank you to everyone. You have no idea how much your support means to us.

THE NEW ALBUM....
As for the new album that we'd been talking about last year ("RISE DEMON RISE"), it looks like this may take a bit longer than planned. Just prior to the show last summer I was asked to manage the band LACUNA COIL. An amazing opportunity (and something that I certainly couldn't turn down). Unfortunately, this has taken my focus off of the VOODOO album for the time being. With a bit of luck however, we should be able to get back to it very soon. The new songs sounded killer, and it would be a shame to not record them. Hopefully those of you who saw the show liked the new song that we opened the show with (the title track "RISE DEMON RISE"), I think that should give you a good indication of what we have planned for the album.

OK, time for more coffee. I promise to have more updates for you all very, very soon.

Thank you all for your support throughout all of the years! You have no idea how much we truly appreciate it.

OVER/OUT.
ADAM.
TRANSMISSION END."

JULY 05 2007 - FIRST SHOW IN 9 YEARS JUST ANNOUNCED!

Hello from PLANET VOODOO HQ.

After a very, VERY lengthy hiatus, MONSTER VOODOO MACHINE have just announced a Toronto show on Thursday Aug. 9th @ The Fun Haus (Queen St. W. @ Bathurst).

The band have been in the rehearsal room since last winter working on new material and crypt-kicking the cobwebs off of some Voodoo classics. It's still too early to know what the final Toronto show set list will look like - but we can promise you that the set will be about intense volume, violent distortion... and maximum damage.

This won't be a one-off "reunion" show. It's just the beginning of the latest VOODOO-esque horror / sci-fi / mad scientist movie sequel. It's been 9 years since the band last blew up Frankenstein's lab and rocked it under the sawblade banner - and maybe it's the blood in the water, the fire in the skies or maybe the hell on earth, but it certainly feels like the right time to do it again.

The band line-up tearing up the stage this summer is:

ADAM (DOOM) SEWELL - vox
JASON CUDDY - guitar
DARREN QUINN - guitar
TERRY LANDRY - bass
DEAN BENTLEY - drums
VICTOR REBELO (of MUNDANE) - samplers / keys

Yes, this is almost the entire SUFFERSYSTEM line-up back in action again! (Unfortunately, Suffersystem keyboard player Stacey Hoskin is unable to make this show. However, he's lurking in the shadows and I can guarantee that he'll be involved with M.V.M. again at some point in the near future.) Joining us for this show is our very good friend (and former Mundane frontman -and- M.V.M. drummer) Victor Rebelo!

No word on any more shows right now - the band are gonna do what they can - when they can. Also, we'll be announcing the support bands for the Toronto show very shortly.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Back soon with more news updates.
