CONTRA001 Recommended Storage Format: 3" CDr "Competitive organizations form similar in scope to Hassan-I-Sabbah's Hashshashin (Assassins) of eleventh century Iran. These organizations attempt progressively more ambitious kills, beginning with low-ranking members of criminal organizations, politicians of rural municipalities, employee of the month types; people at the bottom layers of structures formed from rank and prestige. The operatives of such organizations begin with the murder of low-level officials and proceed to officials of higher rank, leading to attempts on European royalty, corporate leaders, the Catholic Pope, etc. These organizations compete with one another for the highest quality of their kills, with quality being determined by the social rank of their targets. The organizations are in competition with one another while individual operatives, like the original eleventh century Assassins, typically die in carrying out their missions; often gunned down by the target's paid security personnel. Competitive terrorist organizations subsequently form, with whom the objective is quantity rather than quality. Such organizations compete to case the most destruction, the highest costs in damage and lives. Typically
targeting groups such as American soldiers and journalists. Sub-competitions develop amongst these groups to see which of the cells are most effective at evading opposing efforts to stop them while remaining active." |
