They are temporarily well-known (a consequence of working in mass media) but they do not act in any way that is historically meaningful. Typically the celebrity contributes nothing of lasting value to human culture aside from occasionally performing in a minor capacity in the artistic projects of others. The small contributions of celebrities to such artistic endeavours are incidentally the most highly visible contributions to these projects, hence the illusion of importance conferred upon the celebrity. Celebrities must maintain their visibility to retain their illusion of importance, however, and once this visibility is lost the celebrity is forgotten, often without a trace of a meaningful legacy. The best option to a celebrity, particularly a 'movie star' is to pretend to be someone of historical meaning in a film. - CELEBRITIES ARE TRAITORS TO HUMANITY! - becoming a fetishized consumer object is intrinsic to the maintenance of their visibility! In their role as a public figure celebrities are typically RESTRICTED of doing anything of real importance as it is necessary for them to cultivate a certain image (selected from a contrived set of 'types' such as the 'bad boy' or 'party girl') The celebrity subsequently consumes the energies of others (their audience/fans) to maintain their temporary status for as long as possible. The celebrity also reinforces the dangerous idea that wealth and fame is equivalent to success. They are betrayers of humankind, and must be treated as treacherous enemies!"
