A single participant may throw bombs of many colours although most participants choose a single shade of a specific colour to throw as their signature. As a surface becomes more covered by paint participants become more discriminating with their targets, choosing areas where their colour will mix well with those already present. Other participants may target areas in which their chosen colour dominates, contributing to a minimalist display of subtle shade variations.
