NWODTLEM "Video πR8" DTRASH108 Now For Purchase / Download!

May 2008 brings a bunch of great material into the D-TRASH artillery, and that includes the ultra-weird music videos DVD (our 2nd DVD release apart from the DTRASH100 disc) that we are releasing this month from Toronto's NWODTLEM.

The style of attack is called Jawa style.  It's like sampling how electronic artists sample music but if you sampled video as well - using both the music and video simultaneously - Pretend there is a scene of a guy punching someone, or an explosion and that being used as a makeshift kick drum for a song - the beat loops while the video loops - And then all kinds of psychadelic and psychotic elements are thrown in!

You can download this set of videos now and play them on your computer, or you can also buy the DVD through our store (comes with a nify interactive menu to choose the 8 videos".  In addition you can view the videos without having to download by visiting the DTRASH prescence at these sites:  Youtube.com, myspace.com, archive.org.

For more info on NWODTLEM visit the new NWODTLEM Artist Page on our Artists section of dtrashrecords.com.

As for the video and juicy details, NWODTLEM gives us the lowdown on the disc from here:

“Video Pirate is a fully Jawa Video release.  I take video and cut it up, stretch and compress it, chop it up more, arrange and layer clip all with the video and audio together.

The first track on this is called Smacked and is the first Jawa track I ever made.  It is all sampled out of Visitor Q by Takashi Miike.  It may be his most messed up movie and worked as good fodder for figuring out how to make tracks.  The beat is from a brick banging over a guys head from the beginning and it goes together with different yelps for that guy later in the movie.

Things That Make You Go ARARAAGGGH is pure Total Recall worship. Definitely the best Jawa track I have made.  Its 11 minutes long has literally thousands of cuts.  I chopped up all my fav parts of the movie and chop it into beats. I used different source material constantly and kept the beat changing except for some bits where it gets locked in for a little bit.  It took me aaaages to write but was fun the whole way, though I did get stuck a couple times and it really caned my computer. I worked off and on with this vid for almost three months, I really happy with it and look forward to playing it out at a few shows. IT may be a bit hard to watch if you don't like Arnie.

Should Have Made Breakfast Instead's title is self explanatory. I probably could have done more tasteful things with my time.

Blondes Have More Coke is Tromashcore. Troma flick Blondes Have More Guns has really dumb over the top humour similar sense of humour as Naked Gun but with way more of a trashy B-movie vibe.  Cut up bits of nonsense a choppy rhythm.

Badbeatboxing - A quickly made track of a really lame beatboxer with a harmonica.

Isn't it Moronic is just a redone version of a song I did for The Groggs - Take Off Eh.  And is just a straight Bryan Adams cut up.  Really sorry about this.

Stuff Steph is more Tromashcore.  Stuff Stephanie In The Incinerator is such a great name for a movie.

Bocce Beats is homage to BLOTO."
