NEW! CPUWAR return for a remix contest with tracks to appear on reissue of unreleased EP!

The "Technical Violence" EP was relegated to the remaining hard drives that had downloaded it sometime almost 10 years ago, either with CPUWAR sound terrorists B57 and M61, or on the other side of Canada on current D-TRASH admin SCHIZOID's computer.

The 5 track EP was a great insight into first gen D-TRASH and was always waiting to be heard by more than those just in the know...

Now we have plans to release in fall 2009, a "Technical Violence" reissue with the original 5 tracks plus (we're hoping) a 2009 CPUWAR remix.  Other D-TRASHers are in on it but we're opening it up to anyone who wants to try out.

No deadline yet, but just try to get it in when you can, this will be DTRASH131.   Remixers, enjoy the samples and D-TRASH fans enjoy this rare piece of D-history when it's released later this year.>>> <<<

"Here is the sample pack with the original Fast Tracker 2.09 .xm tracker module that shows all the programming of the individual samples/instruments in the old DOS based tracker. Not that anyone has DOS anymore, but people can open it in modern trackers like Renoise if they want to tweak from the original program of the song. For everyone else, inside the ZIP is the full-length track-by-track breakdown of the song saved in high-res VBR mp3 which can be converted by users to WAV or AIFF or whatever they want and sliced/diced from there.  The tracks are un-mastered in their original raw sequenced state. Because of the limitations of the old DOS tracker, we would program/sequence inside DOS and then export track by track like this to Cool Edit inside Win98 and then add afx to the tracks, compressors, reverbs, etc as well as mixing the multi-track down from there. So the remixers will have to add afx to the raw samples from the sample pack....shouldn't be a big deal but when you listen to the tracks they are still DOS lo-fi originals, just wanted to make sure you knew why!"
