"A compilation of music focusing on the noisy side of things, so plenty of metallic, scraping, distorted, noisy, grating, static-filled, bass-tinged, shrill sounds, and that’s a good thing. And it is varied, a plus for these types of label samplers. The music ranges through industrial, grind metal, punk, hardcore, electro and even slow ambient/noise. The rhythm is a mixture of hip-hop, break beat, drum & bass, gabber, computer pulses, and simple Casio beats. Guitars, drums, vocals, electronics and samples of all kinds abound throughout. Standout tracks include Unitus (a weirder, Godflesh style industrial band whose beats shift from hip-hop to drum & bass), Nocore (ambient meanderings with noise interweaved), DHC Meinhof (female vocals, Adult./Yeah Yeah Yeahs style electro), Contra (space/ambient atmosphere with hyper insane, schizoid beats), Asure (noisy, female distorted electro groove). There is a wide assortment of artists and in return a fun trip for the listener." (Garet Guitard)

This is a very symphathic label from Canada, which besides having a distinct DIY-attitude also releases records by a lot of good acts. These acts specialize in original, recognizable, loud as fuck music. And this varies from the noise of Nocore to the mechanical black metal of Schizoid. They are a bit like the Digital Hardcore label in its early days. So, it is not that strange that the "Don't fuck with us"-compilation on the Digital Hardcore label of north-american digital hardcore acts consisted mainly of the artist you here on this sampler.

This compilation should be checked out by the novice interested in 21st century punk. And when I say punk, I mean music with more experiment and aggression than all Epitaph-bands combined. Musically this is closer to Winterkälte or Converter. Because of the abandunt use of (sampled?) guitars, a lot of these songs remind me of Atari Teenage Riot or Ec8or.

The highlights?: the nervous industial/noise of Contra ("Dead exit"), the bouncing beats of Exist ("09.02.2002 (l'abri de bombe)"), the industrial metal with breakbeats of Unitus ("Line by line"), the furious "At which point?" by Schizoid, and the song by Ambassador 21 ("Malenkie") is also enjoyable.
