Winter 2006 harks the arrival of EVESTUS’ new CD “Wastelands” DTECH05 on D-TRASH Records; a quick follow-up to his previous disc, released early last year.

EVESTUS, from Tallinn, Estonia started solo electronic work in 2004, while performing as vocalist since 2001 in Estonian metal project SOLWAIG, not to mention percussionist duties for industrial group FORGOTTEN SUNRISE. Not one to enjoy taking orders, EVESTUS was restless for a bigger share of the creative process in order to express himself musically – Looking for something that would be aggressive & industrial but at the same time, sharing positive and light, he composed and self-released his debut, “Destiny In Life”, after being urged by his peers to put out an official release.  Discovered by D-TRASH crew-member .miQ/NOCORE and passed onto HQ, the CD was a humorous batch of hardcore, industrial, sample-heavy-fun-hardcore experiments, and re-released through D-TRASH Records to a wider world audience.

"Wastelands", EVESTUS’ 2nd full-length album is inspired by box-office hit computer game "Fallout 2", taking you to a place we would be now if WW2 would have turned into a nuclear war. To the wastelands... The whole album is like a diary or an archive - bits and pieces of what was - what it became - and what is left of it after the fallout. Complete and whole, the album dishes out industrial beats that entangled with melodic pianos... Breakbeats adding atmosphere to flowing cellos... Distorted vocals over a Dixieland jazz-band - Powerful beats supporting beautiful melodies. The difference between this newest CD and his debut is like “comparing a Spiderman comic to Bulgakovīs "Master and Margarita". "DiL" is entertaining, but "Wastelands" is more in-depth and thorough expression, a hazy and multi-layered work of contemplative avant-garde industrial-electronica which runs deeper and more intensely emotional than any previous EVESTUS material.

This CD, the 5th professionally pressed and distributed CD for D-TRASH Records, is now available locally in Estonia, with worldwide release plans in 2006.  Ott EVESTUS plans to experiment in the next year, working with other artists, remix work and plans to take EVESTUS live.
