"Oxygenfad, at least on this self titled record, are essentially two bands: An
experimental Digital Hardcore unit, equipped with cut up breaks and Sega
samples, and a kind of noise rock jam band, sounding like a drunken Big Black or
Cop Shoot Cop with occasional indie vocals. I enjoy both aspects of the project
very much, but I can see how some people might be kind of teken aback by the
juxtaposition of styles, so I figured I'd go ahead and point it out right at the
start.
Like I said, I enjoy both aspects of the project, but I do find myself leaning
towards the more noiserocky stuff. The DHR style stuff is very nice, very
spastic with attention to detail and a kickass sense of humor and variation in
sounds, but when displayed back to back with the other material it just seems a
bit less original. But only a bit less. There be no shitty songs here, folks.
As usual with good shit it's hard to choose favorites, but I'd have to say that
the hook in "You Manipulate" makes it my fave track, up there with the opening
Rapemanesque "National Student Loan Service Center" and the funky glitchy cool
"I Need Love".
All in all, Oxygenfad are fucking cool, and I definitely recommend you snag a
copy of this thing."

"Though I've changed a lot since I was a 14 year old punk rocker equipped with
mohawk and all, my politics havent much, and certain punk related things will
always give me a proverbial aesthetic boner. For instance, feminist politics and
loud, fearless female vocalists are two punk rock things that will always be
dear to what's left of my heart. So it makes sense that I dig PHALLUS UBER ALLES,
what with them being a loud, kickass female fronted DHR band and all.
There are honestly only three original songs on "Les Femmes De La Guerre", with
the other 4 tracks being remixes of older material ( save for the remix of "Fuck
the Radio"). Not that the remixes are bad or anything, but you just can't help
but want more new tracks, since the ones that are represented here all kick
total fucking ass, from the anthemic "Fuck The Radio" to the oddly retro
singalong of "Beefed Up". But Regardless of my whining, all of the tracks
kickass. I'm definitely looking forward to a new PÜA full length. If you like
your DHR loud and raw, you have no excuses for not downloading this album. Viva
la revolucion!"
